Below are the steps for installing new label rolls on QL-1100 label printers, but you can follow the same steps for other QL printers: 1. Open the Compartment Cover Turn off your printer. Unlock the compartment cover by pulling the printer’s release levers found on both of its sides. Hold the front of the printer and lift up the compartment cover. Source: Brother 2. Insert the Label Roll Into Your Printer If you are using a new printer, make sure that you remove the protective sheet from the output slot. Snap your DK-2214 label roll into your printer’s spool guide (1). Ensure that the spool arm (2) of your label roll is properly inserted into the spool guide and that the stabilizer (3) snaps into the printer’s notch. Source: Brother 3. Thread the Label Roll Through Your Printer Align the label roll’s edge with the output slot’s upright edge. Straighten the label roll so that your labels won’t get skewed.
